Ariel is one of Israel’s leading municipal companies, dedicated to developing culture, arts, community, and sports in Jerusalem.
Every year, the company produces dozens of national events, international productions, festivals, and a wide range of cultural and sports performances.
Ariel manages and operates Jerusalem’s largest cultural and sports venues, including: Teddy Stadium – Israel’s largest football stadium (approx. 31,700 seats), Pais Arena – the country’s largest and most advanced basketball arena (approx. 11,000 seats), Sultan’s Pool – an open-air cultural venue at the foot of the Old City (approx. 7,000 seats), Part of the First Station complex.

The Ariel Group consists of companies fully owned by the Jerusalem Municipality, established to assist the Municipality in managing and producing cultural, community, and leisure projects, as well as initiating and producing cultural and sports events in public spaces and facilities throughout the city.
Ariel also manages Jerusalem’s largest multipurpose sports facilities, such as Teddy Stadium and Pais Arena (which also serve as the home courts of Jerusalem’s representative teams), Sultan’s Pool, and more.
The company relies on a highly skilled professional staff, and occasionally hires external professionals as needed to fulfill its tasks.
The company’s headquarters include: Facility management and maintenance units, A specialized events production department, A services and projects department serving various municipal departments, Supporting units for tenders, procurement, human resources, and budgets.
In recent years, the company has initiated, produced, and hosted dozens of major cultural and sporting events, both local and international, across the city. Notable events include: Jerusalem Arts & Crafts Fair (Hutzot Hayotzer), Jerusalem Festival of Light, Maccabiah Opening Ceremony, NEXT performances, Festigal, Super Enduro, Eat & Show performances, Robotics competitions, Concerts by Deep Purple, Paul Anka, and many more.
Leading Israeli artists regularly perform at the company’s venues throughout the year, including Shlomo Artzi, Hanan Ben Ari, Omer Adam, Ishay Ribo, and others.
Ariel has also hosted major international sports events, such as The world’s third-largest Judo Masters Championship, Israeli Table Tennis Championship, State Cup Finals in basketball and football, Maccabiah Opening Ceremony
Looking ahead, services around the Sports Quarter will expand, with new businesses opening to serve Jerusalem residents and visitors. Ariel, together with the Jerusalem Municipality, is investing significant efforts in developing and making the area more accessible.
The Sports Quarter’s location on the Jerusalem Light Rail line, set to open next year, will transform it into another major entertainment hub in the city.

Ariel – The Municipal Company
Ariel was founded in 2002 as the operational arm of the Jerusalem Municipality.
The company began producing public-space projects such as Chutzot Ha'Ir and the Jerusalem Lions statues, and went on to produce major, large-scale events including: Jerusalem Arts & Crafts Fair (Hutzot Hayotzer), Jerusalem Festival of Light, Ice City, Formula 1 Race and many others.
In 2013, with the establishment of Pais Arena, a separate company was formed to manage the city’s sports facilities.
Ariel specializes in large-scale, “impossible” productions, and is proud of its high production capabilities and its role in promoting and strengthening culture and sports in the city.
In addition to cultural and sports events, Ariel leads dozens of physical projects each year, and carries out business development initiatives for the Municipality, including: New commercial areas at Teddy Stadium and Pais Arena, Construction of a new (lower) sports hall, A new restaurant floor at Pais Arena
Ariel also manages the city’s advertising spaces (noticeboards and structures), which are currently being renovated to improve urban cleanliness and innovation.
Additionally, Ariel is responsible for project-based services for the Municipality in the fields of culture, community, education, welfare, sports, and arts—covering financial and HR management.
Major projects in recent years include: Management of kindergarten payment systems, Operation of a substitute aide call center, Management of cultural halls across the city and many more.
