Teddy Stadium

Built in 1991 and inaugurated with an exhibition match between Olympique de Marseille and a joint team of Beitar and Hapoel Jerusalem stars.

Located beneath the eastern stand of Teddy Stadium is a Sports and Martial Arts Center, operated and sponsored by the Ariel Municipal Company and the Jerusalem Municipality’s Sports Department.

Opening Hours:

• Sunday–Thursday: 06:00–23:00
• Friday: 07:30 until one hour before Shabbat
• Saturday night: From the end of Shabbat

The center hosts a variety of sports activities for all ages, with hundreds of participants taking part daily in classes and training sessions in various sports and leisure disciplines for the benefit of Jerusalem residents.

Over the years, the stadium has undergone renovations and upgrades to its infrastructure.

In 2013, a southern stand was added, expanding the stadium’s capacity to 33,000 seats.

This upgrade elevated the stadium to UEFA Category 4.

The stands’ seating was replaced, and modern VIP suites were added to the western stand.

Later renovations included upgraded locker rooms, the installation of smart LED lighting around the field, and—for the first time—the construction of a commercial promenade to serve visitors during matches.

This latest renovation enables Teddy Stadium to meet the strict standards required to host UEFA Champions League group stage games.
